The above example is for a third grade vocabulary lesson on the book, Ramona Quimby, Age 8. In order for students to gain an understanding of unfamiliar vocabulary words from the text, they could create a cartoon that demonstrates the meaning of the pre-determined vocabulary words in a story.

This next example could be easily adapted in an elementary classroom that is studying the Great Lakes. In order to commit the acronym, HOMES, to memory, the students could create a ToonDoo cartoon that illustrates their understanding of the lakes. As you can see from the above examples, these ToonDoo cartoons can be a beneficial tool for students to use in all grade levels and content areas!
